Yuri Naumov: The Transcendental Bluesman

Yuri Naumov is well-established as Russia’s greatest blues guitar player where he became a legend for his virtuosity. Since moving to the United States, he has been hailed by Guitar World and The New Yorker as "a one-man band" who – with no overdubbing or sidemen – sounds "as if three guitars were playing."

Yuri defines his music as ‘The Transcendental Blues’, and here you can resonate with every word. He is a world-class guitarist whose music transcends not only the architectural definition of any blues but any conservative genre for this matter. Having absorbed from psychedelia and the art-rock, it takes you out of the realm of the ordinary perception with its deeply haunting complexity and a powerful philosophical component.

Yuri is a nomad: he has lived in New York for over 30 years while traveling all year round. All this time, stories about him and his unique technique of playing his one of a kind 9-string guitar are passed on as a secret knowledge.
